IUB Porn Scandal: Plundering & Pillaging Protectors

Islamabad: Their lives are in jeopardy as the stigma associated with Islamia University Bahawalpur is going to stay with them till they are six feet under.

The current session at the university is stigmatized for infinity and all those female students who are in the institution will have raised eyebrows from friends, family and others.

What justification do they have when they finish university and settle down in their lives with their spouses? Their association with the university will haunt them and no matter how they defend their claim for education, their actions will be considered suspicious.

The porn and drug scandal with over 5,000 explicit hard-core videos has shaken the entire nation as this is happening in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where religion and morals are upheld at all times.

The network unearthed a few days ago with the security chief of the university, a former major in the Pakistan Army, and Professors associated with the group has jolted the entire country.

The name of a senior politician has also surfaced, whose son happens to be an addict and a perpetrator of these immoral acts.

The reports have been there as academic institutions have become drug dens and students have been forced to accept the menace when they were caught in a vulnerable and compromising state.

Needless to say, the education system in Pakistan needs a complete overhaul as 5500 videos from one university are just the tip of the iceberg. They have been collected with the passage of time and this is just one of the phones that was checked.

Why these videos were made and what ulterior motives were there for the protecting guardians is a question that needs a thorough probe.

The professors and security officials who had a joint venture used these students for their ulterior motives and their carnal desires.

It is time some apex institute came forward and made a policy that dealt with hiring and firing. The grouping in universities based on ethnicity, religion and political standing exists, and this divide is carried further by the students who join different organizations, believing the association will assist them in securing a better place both academically and financially at a later stage.

The most deplorable aspect of the entire scandal is the placement of hidden cameras which served the purpose of these guardians who fell from grace into a bottomless cesspool.

The Higher Education Commission has formed a committee that will look into the Islamia University Bahawalpur scandal. It is formed but who will check the committee members credentials as the videos are circulating on social media? How did it happen? Whoever leaked the videos requires another probe.

It is a sad fact that the land of the pure, Pakistan, is plundered from left, right and centre by its very own guardians, who are entrusted with its protection.

Islamia University Bahawalpur is but one example. If a real investigation is carried out, a network that is making millions and more on porn sites can be caught, and universities will rebuild the future of Pakistan in the form of real stars and not porn stars.

Those entrusted as guardians will act as such and not plunder and molest the students who look up to them for protection, not pillaging.
