Islamabad: In a citizen-friendly move, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has rolled out a weekly schedule for its mobile Facilitation Vans to provide on-the-spot services at key public locations across the capital.
According to an ITP spokesperson, the initiative is part of the department’s efforts to improve ease of access to essential traffic services by deploying two mobile units—GAC-709 and GAC-656—to different areas daily.
On Tuesday (July 15), van GAC-709 is stationed at F-10 Markaz, while GAC-656 is offering services at the District Administration Office in G-11.
The schedule for the rest of the week is as follows:
Wednesday (July 16): Bhraku Simly Dam Road (Wednesday Bazaar) and Model Town Humak
Thursday (July 17): Masjid Gulzar-e-Madina, GT Road Rawat and Ghouri Town, Kalma Chowk
Friday (July 18): E-9 Islamabad and Alipur Bank Stop, Lehtrar Road
Saturday (July 19): Godam Chowk, IJP Road and Bus Stand near Golra Darbar
Sunday (July 20): Standby duty at Police Lines Headquarters and Faizabad Office for special assignments or citizen requests
The vans are supervised by Qadeer Ahmed (GAC-709) and Yasir Idrees (GAC-656). Citizens can directly reach them at 0300-2322883 and 0332-7100620, respectively. For general inquiries, the ITP helpline 1915 and landline 051-9260072 are also available.
The facilitation vans offer a range of services including learner’s permits, license verifications, and traffic awareness campaigns, all aimed at minimizing the need for visits to traffic offices and promoting a more efficient, citizen-focused service delivery model.
