ITF Pakistan J30 Tennis Championship Begins in Islamabad

Islamabad:The ITF Pakistan J30 Ali Embroidery World Junior Tennis Championship 2024 officially began on Saturday at the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Tennis Complex in Islamabad.
The tournament has brought together 47 junior players from around the world, including 28 boys and 19 girls from countries such as Hong Kong, Japan, China, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Canada, Korea, Germany, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Maldives, and Singapore.
Pakistan is represented by 28 players, comprising 22 boys and 6 girls.
Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the PTF, welcomed the international participants, expressing his excitement about hosting talented young athletes from across the globe.
He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting tennis development at the junior level and fostering stronger international sports relations. Col. Zia Ud Din Tufail, Secretary General of the PTF, also welcomed the players and wished them success in the competition.
Results of the Boys’ Singles Qualifying 1st Round:

- Yota Nishikori (JPN) bt Hamza Rehmat (PAK) 6-0, 6-0
- Seung Woo Han (KOR) bt Rayan Ahmad (PAK) 6-0, 6-0
- Yeonmu Jung (KOR) bt Inam Qadir (PAK) 6-1, 6-0
Results of the Boys’ Singles Qualifying 2nd Round:
- Park Dohyun (KOR) bt Syed Mahd (PAK) 6-0, 6-2
- Seung Woo Han (KOR) bt Andrew Kaavinda (SRI) 6-0, 6-2
- Yota Nishikori (JPN) bt Gwanmu Kim (KOR) 6-4, 6-1
- Youngchae Oh (KOR) bt Chanapat (THA) 6-4, 6-3
- Minwoo Kim (KOR) bt Taimur Ansari (PAK) 6-4, 6-1
- Patcharaphol Leekul (THA) bt Tetsutada Kondo (JPN) 6-1, 6-4
- Youngchae Oh (KOR) bt M. Yahya (PAK) 6-1, 6-1
- Yeonmu Jung (KOR) bt Nevan Kannangara (SRI) 6-0, 6-2
- Zain Saeed Khalid (PAK) bt Bills Awais Janjua (PAK) 6-2, 6-3
The third and final round of the qualifying matches will take place on Sunday at 10:00 AM, with the main draw scheduled to start on Monday.
