IT Sector Urges Govt to Allocate Substantial Funding for IT Parks

Islamabad: The information technology (IT) sector has urged the government to allocate substantial funding in the upcoming budget for the establishment of IT parks across the country, citing the sector’s potential to significantly boost economic growth through exports.

Speaking on Samaa TV, IT expert and entrepreneur Faizan Aslam emphasized that despite being the fifth most populous country, Pakistan lags behind smaller nations such as Vietnam in developing modern IT infrastructure.

“As a country with immense potential, Pakistan must invest in building IT parks to facilitate the growth of its digital economy,” Aslam said. He called on the government to create a favourable environment for IT companies by reducing taxes and providing comprehensive support to the industry.

“By empowering the IT sector, Pakistan can enhance its export capacity and achieve meaningful economic progress,” he added.

Aslam further urged policymakers to prioritise the IT sector, stressing the need for incentives and targeted investments to help local companies expand, attract investment, and remain competitive in the global market.
