Israeli Military Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Lebanon

Jerusalem: The Israeli military announced it had carried out strikes on numerous Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, just two days after an air raid killed the group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah.

According to a statement by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Telegram, they targeted “dozens of terrorist locations,” including buildings used to store weapons and military assets.

The IDF reported that it had attacked “hundreds” of Hezbollah positions over the past day in efforts to weaken the group’s operational capabilities.

The strikes came in the wake of Friday’s Israeli air raid on a suburb of Beirut, which resulted in the death of Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s long-time leader, raising concerns about the possibility of a broader conflict in the region.

Since the start of Israeli operations against Hezbollah strongholds earlier this month, over 700 people have been killed in Lebanon, according to the country’s health ministry.

The escalation followed low-intensity cross-border attacks launched by Hezbollah against Israeli forces, in response to Hamas’s unprecedented offensive on Israel on October 7, which led to ongoing hostilities in Gaza.
