Jerusalem/Tehran: Israel has claimed responsibility for killing a senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in a targeted airstrike, intensifying tensions in the already volatile Middle East.

According to Israeli media reports citing military sources, Amin Pourjodki — also reported as Amin For Judkhi — was eliminated in a precision strike carried out by the Israeli Air Force. Pourjodki was identified as the commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force’s second unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) unit.

The airstrike reportedly occurred on Saturday, though Israeli authorities have not disclosed the exact location or operational details of the mission.

Israeli officials described Pourjodki as a pivotal figure in Iran’s drone warfare capabilities, alleging his involvement in directing UAV operations and supplying drone technology to Iran-aligned proxy groups across the region.

“The IDF confirms the elimination of Amin Pourjodki, a senior operative and commander of Iran’s second UAV unit within the Revolutionary Guards’ Aerospace Force,” an Israeli security official told local media. “His central role in coordinating drone attacks and distributing UAV technology to Iranian proxies made him a legitimate target.”

As of the time of this report, Iranian authorities have not issued an official statement, and Pourjodki’s death has not been confirmed by Tehran.
