Islamabad to Strengthen Security with Gates, CCTV Surveillance

Islamabad: Authorities have decided to further strengthen security arrangements in the federal capital by installing security gates, protective fencing and modern CCTV cameras at key locations across the city.

The decision was taken during a meeting held at the headquarters of the Capital Development Authority, chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

Officials briefed the meeting on the progress of ongoing measures aimed at improving security in the capital. The participants were informed that work was underway on the installation of entry and exit gates to enhance protection at sensitive areas and important government buildings.

The meeting was also told that protective fencing was being installed around major entry and exit points of the city to further improve security arrangements.

Officials said modern CCTV cameras would be installed at important locations across Islamabad, along with a monitoring system to maintain surveillance over sensitive areas.

During the meeting, Randhawa directed the concerned departments to expedite work on the installation of security gates and fencing. He emphasized that security arrangements in sensitive zones, including the Diplomatic Enclave and the Red Zone, were being upgraded in line with modern security requirements.

He also instructed officials from the CDA, police and district administration to regularly visit their respective areas to monitor progress on security-related projects.

Randhawa reiterated that no compromise would be made on the security of the federal capital and that all available resources were being utilized to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.

The meeting was attended by CDA Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Design and Planning Dr Khalid Hafiz, as well as senior officials from the CDA, Islamabad Police and the Islamabad Capital Territory administration.
