Islamabad Terms Israeli Media Reports ‘Baseless and Misleading
News Desk
Islamabad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Sunday strongly dismissed media reports originating from Israel that alleged Pakistan had issued a nuclear threat against Tel Aviv, calling the claims “entirely baseless and fabricated.”
In an official statement, the MoFA spokesperson clarified that no such threat was made by Pakistan, asserting that the reports circulating in Israeli outlets are “false, misleading, and deliberately aimed at creating unwarranted tensions.”
“These claims are completely unfounded. The Israeli media is propagating misinformation and spreading a false narrative about Pakistan,” the spokesperson said.
Pakistan Reaffirms Responsible Nuclear Policy
Reiterating Pakistan’s longstanding nuclear doctrine, the MoFA emphasized that the country is a responsible nuclear power committed to regional peace and stability.
“Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and a key player in the region. Dissemination of such fake news is not only irresponsible but dangerous, as it fuels unnecessary fear and misperception,” the spokesperson warned.
The controversy arose in the aftermath of escalating conflict in the Middle East, triggered by Iran’s retaliatory missile strikes on Israel following Israeli attacks on Tehran. Reports indicate that Iran launched ballistic and hypersonic missiles targeting key Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Occupied Jerusalem, resulting in dozens of casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.
Pakistan, while maintaining neutrality in the conflict, has consistently urged restraint and a peaceful resolution to regional disputes.
