Islamabad, Riyadh Agree to Enhance Economic Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reiterated their commitment to strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and increasing Saudi investments in Pakistan.
This commitment was reaffirmed during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the 15th OIC Islamic Summit Conference in Banjul, The Gambia.
Both parties expressed their concern over recent developments in the Middle East and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. They also acknowledged the significant role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in addressing issues affecting the Muslim Ummah, including the situations in Palestine and Kashmir.
Recognizing the importance of their longstanding strategic and economic ties, both sides reiterated their determination to further enhance economic cooperation and Saudi investments in Pakistan.
Ishaq Dar commended Saudi Arabia’s ‘Vision 2030,’ which aims at the socio-economic transformation of the Kingdom in the 21st century.
He emphasized that the recent high-level visit of the Saudi Foreign Minister and delegation to Pakistan signaled a new phase of economic collaboration between the two countries.
