Islamabad Residents Rally Against Growing Robbery Incidents

Islamabad: The residents of Islamabad have demanded the Interior Minister and the Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad to promptly address the growing incidents of robberies occurring across various sectors of the city.
They urge authorities to restore peace and order within the jurisdiction of Noon police station, as citizens continue to fall victim to robberies in broad daylight.
In a recent robbery incident at Golra Mor, a citizen named Muhammad Qayyum was robbed at gunpoint while driving towards the vegetable market around 2:30 pm.
Two armed robbers, aged between 25 and 30 years, intercepted his car amidst traffic congestion. They assaulted Qayyum with pistol butts, demanding Rs 18 lakh, his ID card, and other necessary documents before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle with accomplices.
The investigation officer, when contacted, mentioned that the victim party is currently unavailable. They have reached out to the plaintiff, Abdul Qayyum, urging him to come forward and progress with the case. However, Abdul Qayyum responded that he is presently in his native village.
The investigation officer said that they can only proceed with the case once the plaintiff is available to initiate further proceedings.
This incident underscores the persistent issue of daily robberies, where citizens suffer substantial losses of money, motorcycles, and valuables.
By addressing these concerns, the community aims to dispel the prevailing atmosphere of fear and panic, allowing citizens to carry out their daily activities without apprehension of criminal activity.
