Commenting on the current dengue situation at PIMS, he said that patients with dengue are still being treated at the hospital and nearly 10 patients are discharged each day when their health condition improves.

“Daily dengue cases from remote regions are admitted to PIMS, adding to the administration’s workload. We are giving every patient the best medical care we can,” Dr Khalid added.

He stated that the PIMS hospital has decided to allocate three additional wards for dengue patients as the number of cases keeps rising, and 120 beds are being set aside for this reason in order to manage the burden of dengue patients.

He urged the populace to exercise additional caution during this high-risk dengue season, especially at sunrise and evening when dengue mosquitoes are most active.
