Islamabad Police Crackdown Against Kite Flyers,  Arrest 23

News Desk

Islamabad: In a significant crackdown against the perilous activity of kite flying, Islamabad police have arrested 23 suspects following 39 raids in Rawalpindi and its adjacent areas.

The arrests came following Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi’s directions who has called for stringent action against this dangerous pastime, which is deemed a threat to human life, said police spokesman on Tuesday.

He said the operations, which unfolded over several days, targeted key areas known for kite flying activities.

The IG, he said, has emphasized that officers responsible for regions where kite flying persists will face serious repercussions.

“Islamabad police committed to ensuring public safety and curbing activities that pose a risk to residents,” the spokesperson quoted IG as saying.

He said a zero tolerance policy was being adopted against those engaging in kite flying and endangering human lives.
