Islamabad Gets CDA App for Public Transport Guidance
News Desk
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched its official “CDA Mobile App” to provide citizens with information on metro and electric feeder bus routes in Islamabad, officials said Saturday.
The app, available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store, integrates with Google Maps to offer trip planning, estimated travel times, route maps, and bus stop details. It also includes tourism guidance for visitors and serves as a platform for public announcements such as route changes.
CDA spokesman said the initiative, announced during a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, aims to make public transport more accessible, convenient, and environmentally friendly.

Future updates are expected to feature real-time bus tracking on Google Maps and a digital fare payment system compatible with QR codes, debit and credit cards, and mobile wallets including Easypaisa and JazzCash.
“Citizens will now have complete information about electric buses from their homes, allowing them to plan journeys without inconvenience,” the spokesman quoted Randhawa as saying.
Officials said the under-construction Zero Point Depot will soon be activated to expand electric bus operations, while new routes may be introduced based on passenger demand.
The CDA underscored that the electric bus service is part of its broader strategy to reduce environmental pollution by cutting reliance on petrol and diesel transport.
In addition to the app, commuters can access route maps and schedules through the CDA’s official website: www.cda.gov.pk/public/cdaTransitMap.
