Islamabad: In a significant step toward enhancing emergency response capabilities in the federal capital, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has inducted a state-of-the-art fire tender vehicle into the Islamabad Fire Service.

The high-tech 12-wheeler, equipped with 4×4 drive and advanced firefighting features, is expected to drastically improve response time and operational efficiency during fire and rescue operations, especially in difficult urban and off-road environments.

The handover ceremony was held at the CDA Headquarters and presided over by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Senior officials from the Member Administration, Member Planning, Building Control Section (BCS), and the Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate also attended the event.

The fire tender was donated by the Pakistan Telecommunications Employees Trust (PTET) and acquired through the collaborative efforts of the CDA’s Building Control Wing.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Randhawa praised the dedication of the BCS and emergency management teams.

“This fire tender marks a significant step in ensuring prompt and effective responses to fire incidents. It reflects our ongoing commitment to upgrading Islamabad’s emergency services,” he said.

The new vehicle will further empower the Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate, enabling broader and quicker intervention in emergencies across the city, including high-risk and hard-to-reach areas.
