Islamabad: In its fight against environmental pollution, the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICT) has enforced Section 144 in Islamabad.

Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, concerned officials are actively engaged in curbing environmental degradation and smog across various regions.

In this regard, Magistrate Mir Yameen (Sadar Zone) conducted inspections of several areas, specifically focusing on kiln factories. As a result of Section 144 violations in different sectors of the Sadar Zone Tarnool area, eight kiln factories have been shut down.

Magistrate Yameen emphasized the crucial role of public cooperation with the district administration to tackle environmental pollution and smog. He stressed that strict adherence to government directives is vital to combating these issues.

Air pollution presents significant challenges in Islamabad, affecting the environment, public health, and overall well-being. The rise in vehicle numbers, coupled with insufficient public transportation, leads to severe traffic congestion, resulting in vehicle emissions that heavily contribute to air pollution.

Industrial operations, encompassing manufacturing and construction, release pollutants into the atmosphere. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Islamabad has taken proactive measures to combat air pollution, recognizing its adverse effects on the city’s environment and public health.
