Islamabad Bans Public Gatherings for Two Months
News Desk
Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has imposed a two-month ban on public gatherings, including rallies, processions, and demonstrations involving five or more people, citing concerns over law and order.
The decision, outlined in a notification issued by Additional District Magistrate Usman Ashraf, was made due to concerns over potential unlawful assemblies and disruptions to public order. The ban specifically addresses the risk of planned religious and sectarian demonstrations.
The order applies to all public spaces within Islamabad, including the Red Zone, which contains key government buildings, diplomatic missions, and other sensitive locations.
The ban will remain in effect for two months, and any ongoing investigations, legal proceedings, or penalties related to violations will continue beyond this period.
