IRSA Reports Water Release and Levels in Major Rivers

Islamabad: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) announced on Monday the release of 179,300 cusecs of water from various rim stations, with an inflow of 155,000 cusecs.

According to IRSA’s latest data, the water level in the River Indus at Tarbela Dam is currently at 1,537.70 feet, which is 139.70 feet above its dead level of 1,398 feet. The inflow and outflow at the dam were recorded at 94,100 cusecs and 85,000 cusecs, respectively.

In the River Jhelum at Mangla Dam, the water level stands at 1,215.90 feet, 167.90 feet above the dead level of 1,050 feet. The inflow and outflow here are noted at 11,600 cusecs and 45,000 cusecs, respectively.

The release of water from key points includes 93,000 cusecs at Kalabagh, 85,300 cusecs at Taunsa, 69,300 cusecs at Guddu, and 31,300 cusecs at Sukkur. Additionally, from the River Kabul, a total of 20,800 cusecs was released at Nowshera, while 3,700 cusecs was released from the River Chenab at Marala.

These water management efforts are crucial for irrigation and flood control in the region.
