iPhone 17: What We Know So Far About Design, Performance, and Price
News Desk
Islamabad: Apple enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the iPhone 17 series, expected to launch in September 2025.
The new lineup is anticipated to bring significant upgrades over the iPhone 16 models, with four distinct versions likely to be introduced: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Notably, Apple will be phasing out the Plus variant.
Design and Display Enhancements
The iPhone 17 is expected to maintain the familiar vertical dual-camera design of the iPhone 16 but may feature a slightly larger display, potentially expanding to 6.3 inches, similar to the iPhone 16 Pro.
A major enhancement could be the addition of a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate for the standard iPhone 17 model, a feature previously reserved for the Pro versions. Apple may also improve the device’s durability by adding an anti-reflective, scratch-resistant coating.
Performance and Specifications
Powered by Apple’s next-generation A19 chip, built on an advanced 3nm process, the iPhone 17 is expected to offer impressive performance.
The device is likely to feature 8GB of RAM, with similar battery capacity as its predecessor, but the new chip should enhance power efficiency, optimizing both performance and battery life.
Camera Upgrades
A standout feature of the iPhone 17 could be the upgraded 24MP selfie camera, a significant leap from the 12MP sensor seen in the iPhone 16. The rear camera system is expected to remain largely the same, featuring a 48MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide lens.
Colours and Pricing
Leaked reports suggest that the iPhone 17 will be available in white, black, blue, and pink, with the possibility of new colors closer to launch. Pricing for the base model is expected to start at $799 in the United States, aligning with the iPhone 16’s price point.
Launch Date
As with previous years, Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 17 series in September 2025, likely between September 11-13. Fans and tech enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the official unveiling of the next-generation iPhone.
