Interfaith Harmony Crucial For Fostering National Development: Commissioner Chatha

Rawalpindi: Interfaith harmony is crucial for maintaining peace and fostering national development which emphasises the spirit of brotherhood present in the country, stated Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaquat Ali Chatha on Saturday.

Pakistan is a safe country for minorities where everyone has religious freedom and all the religious minorities living in Pakistan have all the fundamental rights, further said Liaquat Ali.

Addressing the participants of the Eid Milan Party organised by the Christian community in Rawalpindi, the Commissioner added that the Christian community’s celebration of the Eid Milan Party is evidence that we are all united under the same flag.

Chatha further said that the party’s goal is to foster interfaith harmony and unity among all Pakistanis and that such gatherings are crucial for fostering good thinking in the community.

The Christian community is well represented in the Interfaith Committee, further added Commissioner Chatha.

We strongly condemn the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden, the Commissioner said, and he demanded strict measures to prevent such incidents at the global level.
