Indian Modi’s Visit Intends to Hoodwink World: Barkati

News Desk

Srinagar: Maulana Sarjan Barkati, the detained Hurriyet Conference Leader, stated on Saturday that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was a ploy to deceive the world.

He described Jammu and Kashmir as an open prison, occupied by over one million Indian forces. He criticized the ceremony held under the protection of these forces, claiming it was an attempt to present a false sense of normalcy to the international community.

Barkati asserted that yoga contradicts Islamic teachings and urged the Muslims of Kashmir to avoid it.

He advised parents to oppose what he termed as a cultural and Hindutva religious invasion in schools and colleges.

He highlighted that thousands of Hurriyet leaders and youth are imprisoned, with illegal arrests occurring daily.

Additionally, he condemned the ongoing campaign to confiscate and destroy properties, aimed at denying Kashmiris their right to self-determination. Barkati also noted that Indian troops are continuously destroying the homes of Kashmiris during violent operations.

He emphasized that the Kashmiri people would not compromise on their inherent right to self-determination and called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities.

Barkati concluded by stating that a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue is essential for lasting peace in the region.
