Lahore: Senior Minister Punjab Marriyum Aurangzeb on Sunday warned that pollution levels in Lahore are likely to rise as easterly winds carry pollutants from neighboring Indian cities into the province.
In her statement, the minister said the Air Quality Index (AQI) is expected to improve with a change in wind direction later in the morning.
Authorities are conducting mechanical street washing to control dust and airborne pollutants.
She added that water spraying and real-time air quality monitoring are ongoing, while inspections of kilns and industrial units continue to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
