Illegally Cut Timber Seized in Orakzai, Smugglers Arrested

Kohat: The Forest Department in Orakzai, in collaboration with the District Forest Officer (DFO) Patrol Squad, intercepted two pickups and a tractor trolley transporting illegally cut timber in Upper Orakzai on Saturday.

The operation, led by DFO Orakzai Jan Alam and Assistant DFO Kohat Circle Noman Wazir, resulted in the recovery of the timber, which was en route to Hangu for illegal sale.

The smugglers were apprehended on the spot and handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal action.

In a statement, the Forest Department reaffirmed its commitment to curbing illegal logging and warned that anyone involved in timber smuggling would face strict and indiscriminate action.

The department urged citizens to report any suspicious activities related to forest exploitation to protect the region’s natural resources.
