Illegal ISPs: PTA Conducted Effective Raids In Gojra
News Desk
Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) conducted two successful raids in Gojra City against illegal internet service providers.
In collaboration with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the raids were conducted at Adeeb Plaza, Main Bansan Wala Bazar and Mehdi Shah Bazar. As a result, one person was arrested and illegal ISP (internet service provider) equipment was also confiscated on Tuesday.
PTA’s continuous monitoring, determination and persistent efforts to eliminate the rampant proliferation of illegal internet services have resulted in successful raids against illegal ISPs, thus reducing losses to the national exchequer resulting from tax evasion and misreporting of revenues.
The public is once again cautioned to avail telecom services from only PTA-licensed operators to avoid sudden discontinuation of service. A list of licensed operators is available at: https://pta.gov.pk/en/industry-support/home/list-of-operators
