Illegal Arms Seized, Street Crime Gang Busted

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Police arrested seven illegal arms holders and seized unlicensed weapons along with ammunition during separate operations carried out across the district on Wednesday.
According to a police spokesperson, the arrests were made in the jurisdictions of City Police Station, Gujjar Khan, Mandra, Rawat, Chontra and Kahuta. The accused were found in possession of unlicensed firearms, which were confiscated during the operations.
Separate cases have been registered against all the suspects, while further investigations are underway.
Divisional SPs lauded the performance of the police teams, appreciating their dedication and professionalism. They said the crackdown against illegal arms remains a top priority, as the presence of unlicensed weapons poses a serious threat to public safety and law and order.
In a separate operation, Bani Police arrested a two-member gang involved in street crimes. The gang was reportedly involved in snatching valuables from citizens and committing burglaries in different areas.
Police also recovered Rs 12,000 in cash and stolen items from the suspects’ possession.
