IHC Issues Notices to CDA, MCI, ICT Officials

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to senior officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration for allegedly violating court orders in the Tandoori Junction (TJ) restaurant case.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, during a hearing on the case, served notices to CDA Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa, MCI’s Director of Management and Administration Sania Hameed, and ICT Assistant Commissioners Farhan Ahmed and Ghulam Murtaza Chandio, along with Magistrate Ali Javed. The court has sought formal replies from the officials within two weeks.
The petition, filed by TJ restaurant owner Javed Asif, alleges contempt of court under Article 204 of the Constitution, claiming authorities violated a September 27 court order to de-seal the restaurant.
Despite the suspension of a previous notice, the petition states that officials conducted an operation to remove utensils and materials from the restaurant’s premises.
The case has been adjourned for a future hearing, with exemptions allowed for the petitioner.
