Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on a woman for filing a petition based on false information regarding the alleged abduction of her sister-in-law.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard the petition filed by Aiman Javeria, who claimed that her sister-in-law, Azza Bibi, had been abducted. However, during the proceedings, Azza Bibi was presented in court by Federal Police DSP Legal Sajid Cheema along with a report clarifying the matter.
Azza Bibi told the court that she had travelled to Chiniot of her own free will to meet her parents and wished to stay with them. The police report further revealed that the petitioner had approached both the Islamabad High Court and Lahore High Court in the same case.
After hearing the statements and reviewing the report, the IHC dismissed the petition and fined Aiman Javeria Rs50,000 for submitting false information.
