IG Honors Female Police Athlete; Pledges Better Opportunities

Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi honored Constable Umaira Sheraz for her exceptional achievements in marathon running on Wednesday.

The ceremony took place at the IG’s office, where Umaira Sheraz was awarded commendation certificates and a cash prize.

According to an ICT spokesperson, the IG praised Constable Sheraz for her remarkable success and highlighted her perseverance and dedication. “Constable Umaira Sheraz exemplifies the strength and commitment of our force and is a positive representative of Islamabad Police,” said Rizvi.

He emphasized that her achievements not only bring recognition to Islamabad Police in the realm of sports but also serve as an inspiration for women. The IG committed to providing enhanced opportunities and facilities to empower women within the police force and support their positive societal roles.

Constable Umaira Sheraz has achieved notable success in high-altitude marathons, including events such as “The Karakoram Challenge” and the “Karakoram Ultra.”
