ICT Police Introduces M-Tag Service at Seven Locations

APP

Islamabad: In a move aimed at strengthening security and regulating vehicle entry, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has launched M-Tag facilitation services at seven points across the federal capital.

An official told APP on Wednesday that under the improved security framework, all vehicles entering Islamabad will now be required to carry a valid E-Tag or M-Tag, allowing digital verification at city checkpoints. Vehicles already equipped with an M-Tag issued in other cities will not need to apply again, as existing tags remain valid.

The seven M-Tag service locations are:

I-8 Kachnar Park

H-9 Excise & Taxation Office

Islamabad Club

Lake View Park

F-9 Park

Tarlai

Chungi No. 26

The initiative is being implemented under the directives of Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi and IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who have emphasized stricter monitoring of vehicles to enhance safety in the capital.

“The new system will help digitally verify vehicles, track movement, and reduce risks associated with unchecked entry,” the official said, urging citizens without an M-Tag to obtain one promptly to avoid delays at checkpoints and to support Islamabad’s strengthened security measurs.
