ICT Police Arrest 15,000 Criminals in 9 Months

Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested 14,926 individuals involved in various criminal activities over the last nine months, recovering over Rs 1.55 billion in cash and valuables, under the leadership of Inspector General (IG) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
A spokesperson for the ICT Police highlighted the arrest of 1,318 members of 557 robbery gangs and the apprehension of 1,570 drug dealers as part of the ongoing “Nasha ab Nahi” campaign.
Significant seizures included 383 kilograms of hashish, 462 kilograms of heroin, and 13,226 liters of liquor.
In addition to these efforts, 3,460 suspects involved in theft and property crimes were detained. Police also cracked down on illegal arms, arresting 1,684 individuals and seizing rifles, pistols, and daggers.
Moreover, 4,896 professional beggars and their facilitators were arrested, and operations targeting proclaimed offenders resulted in the arrest of 4,314 fugitives.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Ali Raza reiterated the department’s commitment to eliminating criminal elements and urged citizens to report suspicious activities.
