ICT Admin Conducts 1581 Raids

Islamabad: In the meantime, during the past two weeks, the district administration has carried out at least 1,581 raids across the city against profiteers and lawbreakers, and has levied fines totalling Rs 165,500 against them.

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) spokesperson Abdullah Tabbassum stated that the assistant commissioners sealed 55 stores, detained 41 violators and filed five FIRs against profiteers from February 01 to 15.

Abdullah Tabbassum said, while upholding the government’s list of basic commodities with rates, Assistant Commissioners also confiscated 119.7 kg of polythene bags from various stores and issued warnings to the store owners about harsh punishment for the usage of illegal bags. 119 professional beggars had also been detained during the operations.
