Ice-Hockey Championship To Begin In Skardu

Islamabad: The colourful event of the Ice-Hockey Championship 2023 Skardu has been welcomed by the picturesque snow-covered mountains of Skardu to develop and project winter sports tourism in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) official said that a sizable audience of locals, tourists and adventurers would attend the competition.

“The Championship is a yearly tradition at the Winter Festival in Skardu, when several teams take part to amuse the crowd with this healthy sport. During the celebration, locals also set up kiosks selling fruits, food, and handicrafts,” stated the official.

Every year, the Winter Festival draws both domestic and foreign visitors to Gilgit-Baltistan to take part in the competition and other festival events, PTDC representative added.
