ICC Unveils $6.9M Prize Pool for Champions Trophy 2025

Karachi: The winners of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 will receive a hefty $2.24 million from a total prize pool of $6.9 million, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Friday.

According to an ICC statement, the runners-up of the prestigious tournament will earn $1.12 million, while the losing semi-finalists will each take home $560,000—reflecting a 53% increase from the 2017 edition.

Each group-stage victory will be worth $34,000, while teams finishing in fifth and sixth place will receive $350,000 each. The seventh and eighth-placed teams will earn $140,000, and all eight participating teams are guaranteed a $125,000 participation fee.

The Champions Trophy 2025 marks the first global cricket event in Pakistan since 1996 and will take place from February 19 to March 9 across Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. However, in a notable development, India’s matches will be held in Dubai.

The tournament will feature eight teams divided into two groups of four, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah emphasized that the event represents the pinnacle of ODI cricket and reinforces the council’s commitment to investing in the sport.
