Humaima Faces Backlash Over Heeramandi-Inspired Dance Reel
News Desk
Islamabad: Humaima Malick recently shared a reel on her Instagram, featuring a Heeramandi-inspired look while dancing to the song “Tilismi Bahain” from the popular show.
Dressed in a golden shimmery saree, with curly open hair and nude makeup paired with maroon lipstick, the video quickly caught attention online. In the clip, Humaima can be seen smoking and showing off her moves, which has sparked backlash among netizens.
Captioning the post, she wrote: “That was just a fun Bollywood night, and we all enjoyed it, so don’t take it seriously. Thank you for this wonderfully done sari and the detailed work on the blouse, Nilofer Appa—there’s no one like you. Special thanks to Waqar Ahmed Butt for shooting this, and my lovely Kami Bhatti for the makeup. Love you all.”
Despite her lighthearted message, the video didn’t sit well with many of her followers. Fans expressed their disappointment, criticizing her for imitating Bollywood, which they found uncharacteristic of the persona she often portrays as a practicing religious individual.
One follower commented, “You should try to become a star so that people copy you,” while others pointed out her inconsistent behavior, switching between religious and bold public displays. The post has triggered widespread criticism on social media.
