Islamabad: With the summer holidays in full swing, the federal capital has come alive with a variety of summer camps offering children a dynamic mix of learning, creativity, and fun.

These camps—ranging from arts and crafts to sports and language classes—are proving to be more than just a pastime. They’re creating meaningful, skill-building experiences for young minds.

Across the city, children are diving into activities such as painting, pottery, drama, and music, allowing them to express themselves creatively while developing new interests and building friendships. For many children, it’s a welcome break from screens and routines—a chance to explore, play, and learn in a supportive environment.

Amna Khan, a parent whose child is attending a summer camp, shared her excitement. “I am thrilled to see my child grow and learn new things. The instructors are experienced, and the activities are engaging and fun. These camps are an excellent way to keep children active and learning during the summer,” she said.

She emphasized that the structured yet nurturing environment allows children to safely explore their interests, gain confidence, and develop a range of skills that go beyond the classroom.

For others, the transformation in their children has been remarkable. Sundus Gull, another parent, said her child was initially hesitant to join a camp but soon became enthusiastic. “Now, they’re thoroughly enjoying it. The camp has helped my child become more confident and outgoing,” she remarked.

Educators and camp organizers echo these sentiments. Mumtaz, the director of one such summer program, believes these camps offer an essential platform for holistic child development. “Our camps provide students with a unique opportunity to explore their creativity and artistic skills. From painting to sculpture, we offer a range of activities that cater to different interests,” he explained.

He stressed the importance of keeping children engaged during the long summer break. “Extracurricular activities are crucial for a child’s growth. Our goal is to offer a space where kids can explore their passions, discover new talents, and gain life skills in a fun and inclusive environment.”

As Islamabad continues to host these enriching summer programs, they are becoming more than just seasonal pastimes—they are shaping confident, curious, and capable young citizens. With the continued support of parents and dedicated educators, these camps are proving to be a valuable investment in the future of the city’s youth.
