Hot Weather Likely with Chance of Isolated Rain: PMD
News Desk
Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted hot and dry weather for most regions of the country over the next 24 hours. However, isolated rain, windstorms, and thundershowers are expected in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, the Potohar region, northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, there is also a chance of heavy downpours and hailstorms during the evening or night hours.
Continental air continues to dominate much of the country, maintaining hot and dry conditions. However, a shallow westerly wave is expected to approach the upper and western regions by tonight, potentially bringing a shift in weather patterns.
Over the past 24 hours, most areas experienced hot and dry weather, with only Gujranwala recording minimal rainfall of 1 mm. The highest temperatures recorded include 43°C in Turbat, 42°C in Sibbi, and 41°C in Dadu.
While hot conditions persist, the incoming westerly wave is expected to bring much-needed rainfall and relief to the northern areas, offering a temporary break from the ongoing heat.
