Hot, Partly Cloudy Weather Forecast for Lahore

Lahore: Hot and partly cloudy weather continued in Lahore on Wednesday. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET) forecasted similar conditions over the next 24 hours, with a possibility of scattered rain.

The city recorded a maximum temperature of 38°C and a minimum of 26°C. The forecast also includes chances of scattered showers in the coming days, which may be accompanied by windstorms in various regions of the country.

Meanwhile, Lahore’s Air Quality Index (AQI) averaged 156, with PM2.5 levels reported to be 12.6 times higher than the World Health Organization’s recommended annual guideline.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Regional Met Office Peshawar, has forecast widespread rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms with occasional gaps across upper and central parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from October 2 to 7.

According to the advisory, moist currents from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea are penetrating the region and are expected to intensify between October 4 and 6, while a fresh western disturbance is also likely to approach during this period.

Under these weather systems, heavy rainfall accompanied by windstorms, thunderstorms, and hail is likely in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Kolai Pallas, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, and Mohmand. Scattered to fairly widespread rain is also expected in Kohat, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan.

The PMD warned of possible flash flooding in nullahs and streams in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, and Mardan, while landslides may occur in hilly districts including Abbottabad, Battagram, Chitral, Dir, Shangla, Kohistan, Malakand, Mohmand, Orakzai, Kurram, Torghar, and North Waziristan.

The department further cautioned that heavy rain, lightning, and windstorms could damage weak structures such as kacha houses, electricity poles, billboards, and solar panels.
