Hot, Dry Weather to Prevail with Chances of Isolated Rain

News Desk

Islamabad: Hot and dry weather is expected to persist across most parts of the country over the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

However, isolated rain-wind and thunderstorms are likely in Potohar, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

Continental air continues to dominate most areas, contributing to the ongoing hot and dry conditions. Nevertheless, a shallow westerly wave is affecting the upper parts of the country, creating potential for rainfall and thunderstorms in some regions.

In the past 24 hours, scattered thunderstorms were observed in Northeast Punjab, North Balochistan, and Kalam.

Hafizabad recorded 08mm of rain, Mandi Bahauddin received 05mm, and Lahore experienced light rainfall with 02mm. In Balochistan, Barkhan saw 07mm of rain, while Kalam in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa recorded 01mm.

Temperatures soared in several areas, with Turbat recording a high of 43°C and Sibbi following closely with 42°C.
