Historic Moment: Inclusive Learning Centre For Trans Launched

Islamabad: The Inclusive Learning Centre for Khawajasara (Transgender) represents a bold step towards building a more inclusive and equal society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to the nation’s progress, said Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain.
Rana Tanveer inaugurated the Inclusive Learning Centre for Khawajasara (Transgenders) at Wasif Ali Shaheed Model School for Boys, G11/2, on Tuesday.
Rana stated that the country today experienced a historic moment of progress and inclusivity by allowing transgender people access to education.
MoFEPT Secretary Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary explained that the accelerated learning plan will provide transgender individuals with basic education and subsequently, they will be linked with vocational training institutes to acquire essential skills to ensure economic stability.
Waseem Ajmal announced a Rs. 500 honorarium per day for learners who show 75 percent attendance to mitigate their economic challenges and encourage them to get an education.
Minister expressed his commitment to establishing a complete formal educational institute in the future, specifically tailored to enrol transgender learners for comprehensive education.
Transgender rights activists Nayyab Ali and Saba Gul also expressed their sincere gratitude to all stakeholders involved and the government for this ground-breaking effort.
They also urged the government to provide transgender people with loans so they could start their own enterprises and reclaim their dignity.
This ground-breaking project will definitely help shape a more egalitarian and successful future for all citizens with the strong backing of the government, civil society, and other stakeholders. It will also demonstrate that education, acceptance and empowerment are the pillars of a really progressive country.
