Beirut: The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah announced on Saturday that it had launched rockets at an Israeli intelligence base near Tel Aviv in the early hours of the morning.

At approximately 2:30 AM local time (00:30 GMT), Hezbollah claimed to have fired a salvo of rockets targeting the Glilot base, associated with Israel’s 8200 military intelligence unit, located in the suburbs of Tel Aviv.

This incident follows nearly a year of cross-border exchanges between Hezbollah and Israel, which intensified after Hamas’s attack on October 7, 2023, leading to the current Gaza conflict that escalated on September 23.

Hezbollah frequently asserts that it has targeted Israeli bases and urban areas, claiming multiple attacks on the Glilot base. Additionally, the group reported firing rocket salvos on Saturday morning towards northern Israeli regions, particularly the city of Safed.

The Israeli military confirmed that sirens were activated in response to “suspicious aerial targets” originating from Lebanon, stating that these targets remain under observation amid an ongoing incident.
