Heavy Rains Expected from July to August: PDMA

Karachi: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has announced that there could be up to 100 percent more rainfall from July to August. 

In Karachi, there are 198 low-lying areas where rainwater accumulates.

In anticipation of the monsoon season, Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi has convened a meeting of relevant agencies and directed them to prepare emergency plans.

A meeting was held on Friday at the Commissioner’s office, attended by the deputy commissioners of all districts in Karachi Division, representatives from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, KMC, Karachi Development Authority, Town Municipal Corporations, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, traffic police, fire brigade, cantonments, and other relevant agencies.
