Heavy Rain Lashes in Sukkur, Weather Forecast for Bahawalpur

News Desk

Sukkur: Heavy monsoon rains hit the Sukkur division and surrounding areas late Friday night and continued into Saturday, causing significant disruption.

The intense rainfall inundated low-lying areas and disrupted the power supply.

Rainfall was reported across various parts of the Sukkur division and several localities in northern Sindh. This spell of rain provided some relief to the weather-weary residents but also led to widespread power outages.

Dozens of feeders from the Sukkur Electric Supply Company (SEPCO) tripped, plunging many areas into darkness.

The downpour led to flooded roads and streets in Sukkur, the third-largest city in Sindh, making it difficult for motorists to navigate. In addition to Sukkur, rain caused power disruptions in Khairpur and Ghotki districts as well.

The Met Office has predicted further rain in the region over the next 24 hours. In response, the Sukkur district administration has issued an alert and instructed rescue teams to remain prepared for emergencies.

For Bahawalpur, the local Met Office forecasts partly cloudy to cloudy weather with a chance of rain over the next 24 hours. The region recorded a maximum temperature of 32°C and a minimum of 26°C in the last 24 hours.

The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy with rain chances throughout the region.
