News Desk

Larkana: Strong winds and heavy monsoon rains brought relief to Larkana on Saturday, breaking the intense heat wave that had gripped the region.

The Meteorological Department recorded 15 mm of rainfall and has predicted more rain and strong winds in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the sudden weather shift caused widespread damage across the city. Several areas, including SSP Chowk, Jail Bazar, VIP Road, Lahori Mahalla, Bandar Road, Nishtar Road, Murad Wahan, Railway Colony, Empire Road, Kennedy Market, and Nazar Mahalla, are severely impacted.

The rain and winds led to the collapse of walls, roofs, canopies, signboards, and trees. Streets and roads are flooded with rainwater and many buildings have sustained structural damage.

Although no fatalities were reported, residents faced significant disruptions, with flooding in numerous homes. Power outages, caused by tripped feeders, have exacerbated the difficulties for locals.
