Islamabad: Dense fog and smog blanketed several cities in Punjab on Saturday, severely disrupting traffic and causing motorway closures across the province.

A Motorways police spokesperson stated that the closures were essential for public safety. The Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (M-11) was entirely shut down, while the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2) was closed between Lahore and Kot Momin due to near-zero visibility.

Similarly, the Lahore-Multan Motorway (M-3) was closed from Lahore to Durkhana, and sections of the M-4 Motorway, including Gojra to Abdul Hakeem, were also affected.

Motorists were advised to avoid unnecessary travel, especially during the night and early morning. Drivers were urged to maintain low speeds, use fog lights, and contact the helpline (130) for emergencies.
