Heavy and Light Showers Persist in Punjab, Sindh and KP

Islamabad: Widespread rain continues to lash multiple regions across Pakistan, with both heavy and light showers reported from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, disrupting routine life and lowering temperatures.

In Punjab, rainfall persisted in several cities including Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Jhelum, Borewala, Gojra, Jahanian and Toba Tek Singh, where intermittent showers have continued throughout the day.

Similar weather conditions were reported in Sindh, where light to moderate rains affected Jacobabad, Ghotki, Obaro, Mirpur Mathilo, Daharki, Larkana, Dadu, Padidan and Miani.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, intermittent rainfall was recorded in Bannu, Swabi, Nowshera, Tank, Karak and areas of South Waziristan, bringing cooler weather to the region.

Meanwhile, several areas of Balochistan experienced heavy downpours, particularly in Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Chagai, Nokundi, Dalbandin, Toba Achakzai and Mastung, raising concerns about possible urban flooding in low-lying areas.

Rain accompanied by strong winds also continued in upper and lower regions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including Bhimber, Kotli and Athmuqam.

In Karachi, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast partly cloudy conditions with strong winds and thundershowers over the next 24 hours. The department has also warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall in isolated areas of the city.

According to the Met Office, the minimum temperature recorded in Karachi was 23.2 degrees Celsius, while the maximum is expected to range between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius. Winds are currently blowing from the northeast at a speed of 8 kilometers per hour, with humidity levels recorded at 87 percent.

Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious, particularly in areas prone to flooding, as the spell of rain is expected to continue in different parts of the country.
