Heatwave to Persist Across Pakistan Till Mid-June
News Desk
Islamabad: A relentless wave of hot and dry weather is set to grip most parts of Pakistan over the coming days, with the plains expected to swelter under very hot conditions, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned on Wednesday.
As temperatures soar, only a few lucky regions in the north may catch brief spells of rain, wind, or thunderstorms — a fleeting relief amid the deepening summer heat.
Friday, June 13
The skies will remain largely cloudless across the country, with most areas experiencing typical hot and dry summer conditions. The plains, including southern Punjab and Sindh, are likely to face blistering temperatures.
Meanwhile, isolated showers and thunderstorms may develop in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar plateau, Islamabad, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan — offering momentary respite for residents.

Expect more of the same — with the heat tightening its grip. However, the PMD forecasts isolated rain, wind, and thunderstorm activity creeping into northeast Balochistan and Punjab, alongside previous northern regions.
Sunday, June 15 to Monday, June 16
The sun will dominate the skies once again, fueling dry conditions across the nation. Yet, localized rain and windstorms may continue to stir in the northern belt — particularly in upper KP, the Potohar region, northeast Punjab, and the scenic valleys of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

As the heatwave intensifies, plains across the country could face dust-raising winds during the afternoon, adding to the discomfort. The PMD has urged citizens to stay hydrated, limit outdoor exposure, and take necessary heat precautions.
Pakistan is heading into a stretch of scorching days, with temperatures climbing steadily. While northern highlands might witness some stormy interludes, most of the country will continue to endure the sun’s unrelenting glare.
