Heatwave Claims 33 Lives in India

Islamabad: A severe heat wave continues to ravage India, claiming at least 33 lives across the country on Friday.
According to Indian media, the deaths have been reported in the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Orissa.
In the capital, Delhi, the highest temperature in the country’s history was recorded this week, soaring to 52.9 degrees Celsius.
The Indian Meteorological Department has warned that the heat wave is expected to persist for another two days in various parts of the country, with temperatures likely to remain 5 to 6 degrees above normal.
