Heat Grips Pakistan: Temperatures Soar to 45°C in Punjab

Islamabad: Today, much of the country’s plains are experiencing intense heat, with temperatures expected to reach 45 degrees Celsius in Punjab.

In cities like Lahore, Sargodha, Jhelum, Sukkur, Nawab Shah, and Dadu, temperatures are forecasted to climb to between 44 and 45 degrees Celsius.

Lahore may even experience temperatures peaking at 48 degrees Celsius, while Islamabad is expected to reach 42 degrees, Peshawar 44 degrees, Karachi 41 degrees, and Quetta 37 degrees Celsius.

There’s a possibility of evening or nighttime rain in some areas including Northeast Punjab, Islamabad, the Potohar region, Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. The Meteorological Department has also mentioned the likelihood of drizzle in Karachi’s coastal areas today.

Karachi’s weather is anticipated to remain hot and humid over the next 24 hours, with a maximum temperature around 37 degrees Celsius.

In Peshawar, the weather is described as hot and humid today.

Yesterday, the city experienced a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department forecasts Peshawar’s temperature to rise further to 44 degrees Celsius today, intensifying the heat in the city.
