Rawalpindi: The hearing of the May 9 case, which was originally scheduled to take place inside Adiyala Prison today (Wednesday), has been moved to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi.

A new date for the proceedings will be announced later. The PTI legal team was informed earlier this evening about the change in venue and schedule, according to the press release shared by PTI media wing on Thursday.

This move is seen as yet another attempt to limit former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s interaction with the media, as he frequently makes public statements during these court appearances.

Sources familiar with the situation suggest that the government has been working to curb Imran Khan’s ability to communicate with the press, further restricting his right to free speech.

In recent comments, Imran Khan has strongly criticized the appointment of judges from outside judicial practice, raising concerns about undermining democratic norms and imposing authoritarian rule in the country.
