Health Minister’s Pledge To Ramp Up Polio Eradication Initiatives

Islamabad: Health Minister Dr Nadeem Jan said that the ministry is planning more campaigns to keep children safe from the poliovirus and the government is ensuring integrated measures to eradicate polio.
Polovirus has been detected in environmental samples taken from three districts; Hub and Peshawar, stated a Ministry of Health Spokesperson.
The genetic testing of the virus found in the sample from Lahore is still ongoing, said the spokesman.
He mentioned that the virus is genetically related to the virus in Afghanistan.
Dr Jan said that it is the national duty of all of us to actively participate in the anti-polio campaign.
Minister appealed to parents to give polio drops to their children during every polio campaign.
