Islamabad: A seven-year-old male Bengal tiger, born and raised at Bahawalpur Zoo, has died due to severe kidney complications, according to a report by a private news channel on Sunday.

The medical report confirmed that the tiger succumbed to critical kidney issues. This tragic incident follows another health concern just days earlier, when another Bengal tiger at the same zoo was reported to be suffering from an eye disease.

The back-to-back health issues have raised alarms about the overall welfare of animals in captivity at the zoo. Citizens and animal welfare advocates have called for immediate action to improve health care facilities for the lions and tigers housed there.

Public demands include regular medical checkups, better veterinary services, and enhanced living conditions to ensure the safety and well-being of these majestic animals.

Concerns continue to mount as questions are raised about the zoo administration’s efforts to provide adequate care for its wildlife inhabitants.
